Saturday, off to watch the F1 Grand Prix at 4.30pm. Parked the car in Shenton Way and caught the train to Lavender Station to catch the free shuttle to the Pit Grandstand. The entrance had a carnival atmosphere with live band playing and lots of souvenir items on sale at prices that die-hard fans would pay for. The walk along the Kallang river was pleasant. While waiting for the practice session at 7pm, we walked to the Singapore Flyer and saw these beautiful sports cars.
We did not want to stay for the qualifying rounds to avoid leaving with a huge crowd, we decided to take some shots of the grandstand and the surroundings before walking towards the Esplanade and ending our F1 outing sitting on the Padang watching the race against time for F1 drivers on the big screen wearing our earplugs, under the stars and away from the glare of the super bright lights. It was an experience of a lifetime to be at the inaugural Night Grand Prix right in our very own city. Singapore is so beautiful from the sky!
