Labrador Park

It was very hot on Vesak Day and we escaped the heat by going to Labrador Nature Reserve where the sun could not torture us totally because we were protected by the trees and were cooled by the gentle sea breeze blowing in from the sea.

Raffles Place

On Labour Day, the heart of the Business District is a quiet haven. Office workers have disappeared, shops were closed and the buildings looked relieved. So on Labour Day, the family decided to walk around the area for a short while before proceeding to Maxwell Food Centre for a late breakfast.

End of walk and it's back to the basement carpark in UOB Building.

Chinatown

Breakfast at the Maxwell Food Centre turned into Lunch. Wonderful hawker fare here with quite a few stalls getting rave reviews from the newspapers that were displayed visibly together with certificates attesting to the quality of their food. This is one of our favourite eating places.
The drive along South Bridge road towards Chinatown where Maxwell Food Centre is located. The colourful dragons and phonixes decorations must have been put up by the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple probably in preparation for a religious celebration.

Different religious buildings side by side along South Bridge Road.

Old shophouses that never fail to captivate.
The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.

This former jinrickshaw station is owned by Jackie Chan.
