The Civic District

The Civic District that is full of historical buildings like the Supreme Court and the Old Parliament House and the Ancient Civilisations Museum where currently an excellent exhibition on the Treasures of the Mughal Empire is taking place.

Boat Quay where trade by the river thrived. Now the conserved buildings are restaurants and pubs where the working crowds gather to de-stress.

The river-cruise boats ply the Singapore river ferrying loads of tourists who could not imagine what the river was like when it was cluttered up with bumboats once upon a time.

The Ancient Civilisations Museum where I went to view the Special Exhibition on the "Treasury of the World - Jewelled Arts of India in the Age of the Mughals". It was a fantastic glimpse into the richness of the ruling class of India across 5 Emperors from the 16th to the 19th century.
