I killed an hour of time with my camera choosing to take these pictures using the sepia mode instead of the normal colour mode because I had wanted to concentrate on the lines, tones and shadows in what I see before me. These buildings and their facades looked rather bland in the day. However in sepia, shapes especially of the windows, were enhanced and took on a fluidity that was not obvious before.

Katong - East Coast Road
Katong is where the good food is and that was what brought us there in search of 'unhealthy' but yummy Hokkien noodles that rule as the best in Singapore.
This is not the place.
Separated by a small road, an indentical building houses the Integrated Cafe where you will find this super delicious Hokkien noodles with lots of fresh and tasty prawns if you order a plate at $10. Smaller plates are also available if you want a plate for yourself only.

A Peranakan Hotel in the vicinity has these beautiful motifs behind glass panels.
Magarita's - I believe this is the same as the Mexican Restaurant in the West Coast area.
I just like the colour combination of the girl's outfit against the old buildings.
Driving along East Coast Road and snapping photos happily.

Katong
"Quick take my camera and take this shot for me before the lights turn green!" And so this first shot was taken from the front passenger seat of my car.
I underestimated the waiting time at the traffic light and it turned out that there was time for a few more shots and here they are:

This would have been the perfect shot if the car had not barged into view. Still, it looked kind of interesting with the metallic blue of the car contrasting with the intricate facade of this old shophouse.
Nearby, this row of refurbished shophouses looked very neat and orderly. I would have preferred to see open windows revealing life within.

Katong Laksa everywhere. Try every shop to find the taste you like.
