From the garden retreat on the 10th floor of the National Library building, I got a breather from the shopping crowds and shade from the sweltering heat.

Toa Payoh Garden - who goes there nowadays?
It was a garden that bridal couples chose to do their outdoor photo shoots.

Because of the picturesque settings .

I did not see any brides because this month is not auspicious for Chinese Weddings.

Still, it was a good place to enjoy nature - flowers and
lotus leaves holding precious water and

the reclining bottlebrush trees that look like pine trees.

Climb the viewing tower and cross the bridge when you come to it.

Sometimes we reach crossroads and then we have to make a choice.

Toa Payoh Gardens where I have been to only a few times in my life.

Maxwell Road

There is a Market of Artists & Designers (MAAD) at the Red Dot Museum along Maxwell Road that is held on the first weekend of every month. What could be better than a plan that commenced with breakfast at the Maxwell Food Centre nearby followed by a walk around the vicinity of the Red Dot Museum and ending at the market at 11am when the artists and craftsman were ready to receive visitors? It was a pity that a heavy downpour prevented me from taking a photo of the museum. Next time perhaps. This is a great area for spending a Sunday morning.

Bugis Street

Gone are the days when Bugis Street had a different reputation. Today, it's just like any shopping place in Singapore - goods, crowds and bargains.

Soon a new shopping complex will be opening next to Bugis Street and the crowds will have a new place to congregate in this area.
