Fungi on Bukit Timah Hill

The only exciting thing I saw walking up Bukit Timah Hill after the rain. Sunlight on water forever hold me captive. No one except me would bother to photograph something this I guess. More photos when I am free...

F1 Grand Prix Singapore 2008

Saturday, off to watch the F1 Grand Prix at 4.30pm. Parked the car in Shenton Way and caught the train to Lavender Station to catch the free shuttle to the Pit Grandstand. The entrance had a carnival atmosphere with live band playing and lots of souvenir items on sale at prices that die-hard fans would pay for. The walk along the Kallang river was pleasant.

While waiting for the practice session at 7pm, we walked to the Singapore Flyer and saw these beautiful sports cars.

My impressions of the qualifying rounds.

We did not want to stay for the qualifying rounds to avoid leaving with a huge crowd, we decided to take some shots of the grandstand and the surroundings before walking towards the Esplanade and ending our F1 outing sitting on the Padang watching the race against time for F1 drivers on the big screen wearing our earplugs, under the stars and away from the glare of the super bright lights. It was an experience of a lifetime to be at the inaugural Night Grand Prix right in our very own city. Singapore is so beautiful from the sky!

F1 fever is on.

Sunday night, the IR builders at work round the clock.

A visit to the Esplanade to discover that I have not been there for a long, long time. A new stage structure that glows in the night that allows our local talents to flourish.

And the Makansutra food place. The Lor Mee was nice. The ice-kaching was a let down because the ice was rough and the miserable amount of atap chee and red beans made me wonder how the stall got into Makansutra's list at all.
Seats were available because it was almost ten o'clock.

The F1 racing track in front of City Hall and St Andrew's Cathedral in the daytime about two weeks ago. What is it really going to be like when the track and lights are ready and when the Formula 1 cars roar around our city circuit in the night? Scroll down to see how I will find out.

Sunset moments

This was how I had enjoyed a perfectly normal sunset this evening. I am sure every evening the sun sets in this glorious manner but when I am watching a sunset, it has to be like this - moment by moment. When I am doing anything it has to be like this - with passion - except when I am doing things I do not like to do. Then it is just going through the motion. Maybe the sun goes through the motion of setting day after day but then it does not have to please anyone or follow what the fashion of the day dictates. Nor does it bother who is watching and it does not wait for those who are late. Sunsets like this one make life a joy, if only for a short while.
